Buyers beware when purchasing home

Alhough I feel Amanda Christie’s frustration with living on a busy street, her letter did not acknowledge her ignorance of two incredibly important factors in deciding where to build or purchase a home.

Alhough I feel Amanda Christie’s frustration with living on a busy street, her letter did not acknowledge her ignorance of two incredibly important factors in deciding where to build or purchase a home.

The first is ‘Buyer Beware’ and the second is ‘Due Diligence’.

She apparently purchased or built a home on a very busy street. I’m sure bare lots/houses cost a bit less on the main thoroughfare as compared to a cul-de-sac, crescent or close deeper down into the development. Ever wonder why?

Home Depot and Costco didn’t just appear out of nowhere; there were plans in place for years as to the fate of the lands to the east of Cimarron and if she had taken the time to investigate, she would have been able to determine that her street would be a major feeder for traffic between Southridge Drive and 32nd Street, and the major shopping district that has popped up there.

She asks why she should be run out of her home because of poor planning and I ask: Who did the poor planning?
