Dear Editor,
Many years ago, respectable businesses would close their doors on the morning of Nov. 11 out of respect for those who served in armed conflicts to ensure the freedoms enjoyed in Canada.
Sadly, this act of respect and remembrance has seen a decline in observance in recent years but the Okotoks business community is working to change that!
I would like to thank all the businesses in Okotoks that were closed on the morning of Nov. 11 this year as a sign of respect for Remembrance Day.
Thank you for your leadership in prioritizing our veterans over profit for a few short hours on such an important day.
