A man of faith who is as comfortable belting out the rockabilly hit “Blue Suede Shoes” as one of his favourite hymns, the Reverend Elvis is not afraid to defy convention.

Members of the renowned Foothills band Cowboy Celtic have got plenty of use out of their passports, but they are taking the opportunity to perform close to home to help the community.

Derek Losoncy of the Foothills Theatre Company is not content for his troupe to just show up at this weekend’s regional competition in the Alberta One Act Play Festival. He said he’s looking for his group’s lone entry “Essay” to win the event.
