Vimy Parade

The annual commemoration of the Battle of Vimy Ridge takes place Sunday evening.

The parade, conducted by the Okotoks Royal Legion #291, commemorates Canada’s role in the Battle of Vimy Ridge during the First World War. This would be the first time that the four Canadian divisions had attacked together. Men from all regions of Canada fought side by side when they stormed Vimy Ridge.

The parade will travel north up Veterans Way, starting at the railway tracks, and up to the Cenotaph at Elma Street. From there, a ceremony will be held before the parade marches back south along Veterans Way.
