Parade Day
Head out to the curb with your lawn chairs and take in Okotoks’ annual parade, followed by the Children’s Festival at Ethel Tucker Park. The parade begins at 11 a.m. and the festival follows from noon to 3 p.m. with entertainment, crafts, activities and food vendors in the park. For more details go to Okotoks.ca

To Market To Market
Revel in the selection of fruits, vegetables, crafts and art at the Okotoks Farmers’ Market as it kicks off the season. The market opens Fridays from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. until Sept. 27.

Opening Run
The eighth annual Millarville Run to the Farmers’ Market Half Marathon point-to-point race through the Foothills June 15 finishes at the market for the first day of the season. The market opens its doors at 9 a.m. featuring Alberta growers, farmers, makers, bakers and artists that create their own products, as well as children’s activities and music. The $3 admission supports programming at the Millarville Racetrack.

Most Beautiful Tour

Art in the Country
Take a drive in the scenic countryside to the Leighton Art Centre northeast of Millarville to view two new exhibits. Vital Lines is a land-based interactive installation conceived by Calgary francophone artists and A Point on the Horizon, which opens Saturday, showcases the work of emerging artists each with a unique perspective. The centre is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Music Never Dies
Enjoy 12 hours of entertainment with a local lineup of talented musicians in the second annual Okotoks Music Festival. The lineup includes, but isn’t limited to, The Handsome Devils, Uncle Jackie, The Sheep River Bandits, Tanya Ryan and Michael King. Proceeds from the concert support the Okotoks Food Bank.

Father’s Day at the Park
The Okotoks Dawgs return to the friendly confines of Seaman Stadium from a seven-game road trip for the annual Father’s Day Game on June 16 against Brooks.
Okotoks (9-3) completes three straight games with the Bombers on Sunday after the first-two of the set taking place in Brooks. The Dawgs are first in the WCBL’s Division, 2 ½ games up on the Edmonton Prospects.
