News from the Valley Neighbours's Club

I’ve just spent a week in Phoenix. It wasn't particularly warm for Arizona, but a lot better than Turner Valley. We put two hummingbird feeders up on Wednesday and by Thursday morning we were being entertained by these tiny visitors.

I’ve just spent a week in Phoenix. It wasn't particularly warm for Arizona, but a lot better than Turner Valley.

We put two hummingbird feeders up on Wednesday and by Thursday morning we were being entertained by these tiny visitors. The trees are loaded with oranges, lemons and grapefruit. What an amazing sight.

The Valley Neighbours’ Club (VNC) received an $840 grant from the MD of Foothills to help complete SCAC's proposed sign project. This should be completed as soon as things are thawed out enough to begin excavation.

The last time I checked, Marv’s Soda Shoppe still had a few tickets for Doris Daley’s concert at Lewis Memorial on March 19. Well worth $20 in my never to be humble opinion.

VNC is beginning to plan for their annual 80 and over birthday party, which will be held on May 29. If you know someone who will be celebrating an 80, 85, 90, etc. birthday this year, please record the name on the sign-up sheet at the club or call Dode Anderson at 403-933-3799.

Don't forget Daylight Savings Time starts on the March 12 weekend. Your clocks go ahead an hour on Saturday night.
