Please note the March executive meeting will not be on March 24, as I reported in last week’s column. The date is March 31.

Our resident bald eagle is checking out the nest off Decalta Road. I hope he/she decides it is as satisfactory as last year.

The Valley Neighbours’ garden club held a bluebird seminar at the library on Tuesday evening. The slides were lovely and we will be building bluebird nest boxes on March 26. Check out the website: www.nabluebirdsociety.org because it tells you exactly how to build nest boxes and much more.

The Doris Daley/Eli Barsi concert on Saturday was an hour and a half of pure enjoyment and the church was packed, despite the weather forecast. Eli and Doris together are magic. Eli has put Doris’ poem “Shades of the West” to music and it is so beautiful it hurts your heart.

Wasn’t it great the forecasted storm on the weekend was a non event.
