Okotoks area COVID-19 update

Following is an update for active COVID-19 cases in the Okotoks area as of 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 18 according to Alberta government statistics.

Town of Okotoks  —  70

Foothills County — 58

High River — 25

There were a total of 1,413 cases identified in the province over the past 24 hours bringing the total of active cases in Alberta to 19,607.

Currently, there are 759 patients hospitalized with COVID, 141 of whom are in ICU.

A mandatory mask bylaw is in place for all indoor facilities as a result of Okotoks hitting 15 active cases.

The bylaw will continue until Okotoks has 30 consecutive days of being below 'watch' status, which is 15 active cases. Okotoks is currently on the enhanced watch list. The bylaw went into place on Oct. 26 when Okotoks recorded 16 cases.
