Rotarians pack some care to Rowan House Shelter

Okotoks: Rotarians continue helping during COVID-19 pandemic

The Rotary Club of Okotoks with the help of the community prepared approximately 100 Rotary care kits for residents and families at the Rowan House Emergency Shelter.

"It was a plethora of donations," said Okotoks Rotarian Jeff Foss. "From businesses, Rotarians and the Lakeview Inn and Suites helped us. It's been a mix."

The bags of supplies for 60 women and 20 boys and girls is enough to help residents at the shelter now and into the future.

The bags were prepared at Lakeview Inn and Suites on May 21.

The project was part of the Okotoks Rotarians efforts to assist the community during the COVID-19 crisis — on top of their usual charitable efforts.

Other Rotary COVID-19 projects included the Face Shields for Foothills and the presently on-going Drive for Five, an initiative, with the help of the community to raise $50,000 and $5,000 for the Okotoks Food Bank.
