An Okotoks woman is walking the trails of her community to raise money in memory of her sister at the CIBC Run for the Cure on Oct. 4.

Vicky, a nurse, passed away at the age of 35 in 2008.

“It was a huge loss to us as well as many others as Vicky was a wonderful nurse who focused on pediatric palliative care as her specialty,” said Okotokian Jenny Noble. “It is Vicky I walk in memory of each year, as well as everyone else who has been affected.”

Noble and her team of six, the Breast of Friends, will start their walk at 10:45 a.m. on Oct. 4.

The annual event is a virtual walk and run this year.

To donate go to Noble’s link.

Donations are accepted until at least the end of November.
