Woman found deceased in Sundre deemed homicide, say police

A woman who was found deceased at a business in Central Alberta Friday is now being investigated as a murder.

SUNDRE - The death of a female found in southwest Sundre Friday afternoon is being treated as a homicide, with police asking anyone with vehicle dash camera video to come forward.

Shortly after 2 p.m. officers were called to a business on Main Avenue West in response to a call for assistance, police said in a release issued Saturday morning.

A deceased female was located in a vehicle at the location. EMS and fire department members also attended the scene.

Police have not identified the female or given her age or other details.

The business is located just east of the Sundre town office. Police have not named the business.

“The RCMP is investigating the death as a homicide and the Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit has taken carriage of the investigation,” said RCMP Cst. Kelsey Davidge. 

“Police are looking for any witnesses that may have seen anything suspicious. Police are also looking to collect any video evidence, and if there is anyone willing to share their vehicle dash camera video or security video from their homes or business.” 

Police said no additional details were immediately being made available.
