There are at least four jack-knifed semis causing lane closures and travel delays on Highway 2 Wednesday morning between east of Blackfalds and Airdrie.

Shortly before 10 a.m., 511 Alberta noted there were reports of a motor vehicle collision including a semi northbound on Highway 2 near Blackfalds delayaing traffic.

As road conditions are impacted by ongoing snowfall, consider postponing travel until conditions improve. (9:57am)

About half an hour before that, the provincial travel advisory service said southbound Highway 2 at Township Road 372, six kilometres south of Red Deer was closed due to a jack-knifed semi.

Airdrie RCMP is also currently on scene of a collision involving a semi on Highway 2 northbound of Veterans Boulevard. Traffic is moving slow in this area.

The RCMP also warned that Highway 2 southbound through Airdrie is also down to one lane.

Southbound Highway 2 at Township 360 approaching Innisfail was closed at about 8:30 a.m. also due to a jack-knifed semi.

Central and southern Alberta roads are covered to partly covered snow, with sections of fair to poor visibility with icy sections. Snow plows are active in all regions.
