Calgary man passed out in St. Albert parking lot charged with trafficking

A man is facing charges after he was allegedly found by RCMP with methamphetamine, heroin, Xanex, oxycodone, fentanyl, cocaine and GHB.

St. Albert RCMP have arrested a Calgary man with an outstanding Canada-wide warrant who was allegedly in possession of 43 grams of what RCMP believe is fentanyl as well as a stash of other narcotics.

On Nov. 5 RCMP found 34-year-old Nabil Abdulgany passed out in his black Nissan Maxima, which was parked outside Value Village.

Abdulgany was “observed laying across the front seat with his legs hanging out of the vehicle and his body slumped backwards towards the front passenger seat,” according to an RCMP press release.

RCMP woke Abdulgany, who was on conditions that he not be intoxicated or possess weapons.

When they searched his vehicle, RCMP found 84.74 grams of suspected methamphetamines, 51.68 grams of suspected heroin, 99 tablets of suspected Xanax, 252 tablets of suspected TEC (oxycodone pills), 43.46 grams of suspected fentanyl, 202.59 grams of suspected cocaine and 1410 grams of suspected GHB.

They also discovered a pocket knife and a fixed-blade knife in the car.

RCMP have charged Abdulgany with four counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a weapon for dangerous a dangerous purpose and two counts of failing to comply with release conditions.

He will appear at the Alberta Court of Justice in Morinville on Nov. 30.
